Details of Organisation and Service

Action for Blind People support blind and partially sighted people in all aspects of their lives. At this office, this includes:

- Living with sight loss: information and support to help you lead an independent life.
- Employment: comprehensive support to help you find work or stay in your job when you have sight loss
- Children, young people and families: our activity club for children and young people (between the ages of 4 and 14) "Actionnaires" is based in Nottingham. We also organise Family Weekends and Activity Weeks.
- BME Volunteering and Self-help: funded by the National Lottery "Big Lottery Fund" we run a scheme for anyone wishing to promote eye health issues with people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester.
- Support at the Eye Clinic: we have an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer based at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham who can help patients to understand their eye conditions and what services might be available
